A multi-award winning conversion of a Grade II-Listed former maltings building into six townhouses. The original building suffered from serious structural defects and had previously been under threat of demolition.
We retained a large proportion of the historic fabric and machinery and this was displayed in the communal entrance area.
The site was in a very challenging location, sandwiched between two residential streets of terraced houses, with a very small set-down area for all materials and spoil to be handled.
The project subsequently went on to win the RICS Yorkshire and Humber Region Awards in both the Residential and Conservation categories. At the National Finals held in London it won the Residential category, only being pipped in the Conservation category by the Tower of London!
